We introduce the Angel Eye, a 3 Degrees of Freedom (DOF) Robotic Eye that mimics human eye movements to capture images.
During the whole event, the Angle Eye will be a key component that will be used non-stop. This device will be attached on a structure and will capture videos form all the other demonstrations that will be livestreamed. This livestreaming will be shown on a screen.
To implement such a device that mimics the movement of humans with 3-DOF is a very complex challenge, and even more so if its size must be kept compact. For this concept demonstration, we have implemented a compact motorized device that can capture uncluttered images using parallel mechanisms that stay behind the vision camera.
This parallel structure can in fact be used for other different applications, such as compact sized applications, stable and accurate robotic manipulations platforms. These can be, for example, laser control, camera orientation devices, robotic vision, medical devices and haptics.
