Project Description

Traditional mobility aids such as the white cane can detect obstacles only at ground level, leaving visually impaired users vulnerable to hazards at head height such as signs, open windows, or tree branches. Our device addresses this critical safety gap through a wearable tactile interface. The system continuously scans the environment using advanced distance sensors and translates obstacle position and proximity into gentle pressure patterns on the forehead. This allows users to intuitively understand their surroundings without relying on sound, preserving full auditory awareness: an essential requirement in busy streets and public spaces. Unlike audio-based solutions, our technology is silent, unobtrusive, and designed for real-world usability.

Feel your surroundings. Navigate with confidence.
