Benedetta Failla
Visiting Student
Benedetta Failla is a Master’s student in Automation Engineering at the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna. In 2023, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering from the same university.
She is currently carrying out her thesis project at the Reconfigurable Robotics Lab (RRL) at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
Her work focuses on the development of a Supernumerary Robotic Limb (SRL), an additional robotic appendage designed to assist and enhance human motor capabilities. The project aims to improve human–machine interaction through the use of electromyographic (EMG) signals for controlling the supernumerary limb.
Throughout her research activity, Benedetta explores advanced techniques for EMG signal acquisition and processing, muscle co-contraction, and human intent estimation.
